Introduction

We want to help others better understand the role that leadership is supposed to take in all organizations, especially Apostolic (Christian) ones. Our approach is to provide both informational articles and real-life stories to show you new ideas and to think differently.

Leadership is a very large part of our conversational daily lives in today’s society. With Government leadership, Corporate leadership, Church leadership and even Parenting (family leadership. There is talk that we need more leadership and less leadership. Others are prone to discuss that many CEOs are paid too much. We have corruption in leadership, and even church leadership doing sinful things. What does the Bible say about leadership? It does include many useful tidbits on that subject. This site intends to explore APOSTOLIC Leadership in depth. This is NOT an exclusive to Church leadership website, you will find the content here to be applicable to any leadership position. What the Bible describes as a good leader, would also be a good leader by today’s standards when you have a choice and are not forced to follow them.

This site includes important leadership definitions, supporting Bible scripture references, and many true life stories to help explain the good, the bad, and the ugly aspects of leadership. In regard to the individuals described in our “Real Stories”, please read the ‘Disclaimer’ page.

This site exists to describe unfortunate situations where church leadership abuses their authority and position. The situations described are real and not fictional, coming from more than four decades of church experiences. Each scenario includes an explanation of what leadership activity was inappropriate, and usually offers an opinion as to the motive, some supporting scripture, and tries to provide suggestions as to countermeasures beyond ‘run away’..

It is hoped that our content will help you, the reader, to be better able to identify abusive leadership conditions that if left to continue would be damaging to your spiritual life. For those of you who have not seen or experienced leadership actions such as these, you have cause to rejoice and to appreciate your own better motivated leaders. If you are a leader, you might take pause to do some introspection, and ask yourself, what kind of leader am I? Have I done any of these things to members?

Is it a goal of your leadership to create stand alone independent spiritual members? Or do they fancy themselves as being an essential part of your walk with God? So essential that if the leader were to go away for any reason, all the members would be lost, as they are completely dependent on the leader for all things spiritual.

It is better that everyone knows how to walk with the Lord, to be able to manage their own salvation. For them a leader is someone who teaches how, and shows by example, training members into a place of self sufficiency. That’s what Jesus would do….
